Hi Olaf- I rowed in the eights for 4 years and will continue to do so for the next 4 in college. 2 months ago at the beginning of the summer I started sculling and have learned quickly finishing with a bronze medal at US club national championships. However, I still have much to work on with my technique and racing. What do you focus on with your sculling technique and what drills do you like to do? Also, how do you strategize in your race? Right now I try to go out as high and hard as I can to break down as many of my competitors as possible, and then hang on for the last 1500m. Thanks! Pat
Svar/Answer: You have to race the best way, to get to finish as fast as posible. Not always the smartest thing to go overkill from start. I focus on letting the boat do as much work for me. And get my 80% stroke to be closer to my best. Catch is important, so you dont stop the boat. Good luck. Train hard.
